Cities and municipalities in Germany will face significant changes in the coming years: Digital citizen service, e-files, new forms of collaboration, and new security requirements concerning digitalization. The Saxony state capital Dresden prepared its administrative staff for the changes of the coming years by holding a half-day event. Dr. Jens-Uwe Meyer delivered the opening keynote and moderated the event.<\/p>\n

The digital transformation will change the craft in the coming years: Previously complex processes can be made more efficient through digitalization, and technologies such as the 5G network will enable entirely new use cases. Cranes, for example, will be able to be precisely controlled from long distances via the 5G network. The digital twin of buildings will contain information that previously had to be obtained at considerable efforts. And new business models for the building industry based on data will emerge. How exactly can companies in the electrical industry become digital winners? Dr. Jens-Uwe Meyer gave a speech on this topic to around 350 members of the Hamburg electrical industry community.<\/p>\n

Public administration is turning the digital transformation into one of its most important activities from 2020. The reason for this is the Online Access Act, which obliges the federal and state governments to offer their administrative services electronically via administrative portals by 2022 at the latest. It is the task of public authority managers to take employees along with them in the process of change. Dr. Jens-Uwe Meyer’s speech was held at an executive conference of the city of Neuss.<\/p>\n
